Imran to Shehbaz: Change?

Dynastic politics is reigning supreme in Pakistan right now, as an industrialist Sharif family is again in politics. Moreover, the Establishment's role in maintaining their hegemony by bringing in and then ousting any govrnernmem of choice has never allowed a thriving democracy. Khan's removel from the office, though was constitutional, yet it has again dogged military's intervention in "the coup without force."

Establishment in itself isn't a bad institution as, afterall, it works for sustaining the integrity and sovereignty of the country. But problem arises when Establishment along with all other institutions start protecting only a handful of people or clans or families while leaving all other people of the country on the crutches of slavery, inflation, poverty, bad system and ailing judiciary.

As per my opinion, things will not change anymore. Imran Khan will continue "street protests" instead of facing opposition in the parliament. Moreover, the Sharif family would strengthen its foothold and devise ways to have a complete stronghold over country in the coming elections. Those who will not get seats will regulate the Opposition strikes, calling the government corrupt.

PTI government has been very successful in raising their media politics. Especially the social media cell of PTI has never disappointed the common mass. While the government was bringing the country on the brink of economic instability, political turmoil and social injustice, the social media portrayed a very different picture by playing with the sentiments of youth.

One thing becomes all the more important to note here that the youth or common people can easily be swayed by "mili nagmas" and "slogans", when you have no positive economic indicators to show.

On the societal side, the country would face a dillema. The poor people will not have any quality health care, educational or transportation system. Only schemes, as given by the predecessor IK in the form of Ihsaas, Health Card etc., would be distributed to fool the mass.

What has proved aright here is that our politics has never been a "democratic" one. It is surrounded by the industrialists and capitalists. Those who have enough wealth and power and could benefit the "foreign" as well as "domestic hidden forces" are always in the government.

"Kashmir issue", "The USA threat" and "reviving Islamic principles" have always been a hot topics in Pakistani politics as this is an essiest way for the politicians to grab popularity. Slogans would emerge to sway the sentimental nation. The story of everytime would be repeated.

  1. It's a penertrating analysis in view of the rampant political instability with particular reference to the present time. By the time, the narrative of the government and that of the establishment came at cross purposes with each other, the rift between them surfaced which led to the ousting of the established government. This is a black spot on the development of democracy.

    1. You are so right. I think, democracy is just a sub-shoot of Capitalism. In the third world countries the notion kf democracy is provoked to lullaby the ordinary people. The political leaders of the countties are people with land lord or industrialist background. Then, how coul such aristocrat represent common people of the country? This is just a smokescreen.
